The Bullworker

The Bullworker is the original home gym exercise machine. The Bullworker has become an iconic name, one that transcends the product and puts it on a par with very few other products in the field of exercise and muscle building. Many individuals have become synonymous with muscle building such as Charles Atlas, Vince Gironda and Joe Weider. However in unique product design it is difficult to think of a single piece of uniquely designed bodybuilding equipment which is better known. Arthur Jones Nautilus range of machines were very popular, but not with the masses. The bullworker, with sales of nearly 10 million units world-wide is the product that every young adult male of certain era either had, or knew someone who had. Why was it so successful when other "inventions" have tried and failed in the same market?

The Bullworker was, and still is, simple to use. More importantly though it worked! People using the bullworker properly got results, real results that lasted. To embrace the concept of bullworker training to people 50 years ago, the product was endorsed by the likes of Mohammed Ali and Bruce Lee, two people, who like the bullworker itself were bigger than the sports that made them. They were famous just for being who they were! Even after Mohammed Ali lost his world titles he was still more famous and recognisable than those that followed him. In fact no boxer has ever achieved the level of fame that he did. The same applies to Bruce Lee, who still, many years after his death, remains an iconic figure recognised by people too young to remember him when he was alive, but who are still in awe of the man even today.

The fact that the Bullworker works makes it unpopular with many people! Yes you read that correctly, some people "hate" the bullworker as it directly challenges their own beliefs or their revenue stream! Just as for years people continued to believe that the earth was flat, despite the evidence to the contrary, so some traditional weight lifters or body builders question the effectiveness of the bullworker even though millions of people all over the world have benefited from its use! Gym owners do not want people using bullworkers as they would stop coming to their gyms, so they create all sorts of stories in order to put people off using them.

With a multi million dollar fitness industry against it, how did the bullworker with its small advertising budget survive and thrive? Again the answer is - because it works! So what happened to Bullworker? Why did it disappear? Well it didn't! The Bullworker in various guises still exists throughout the world. Unfortunately the marketing has been confusing as various parties all claim the Bullworker throne! Having tested them all of them seem to be good. In fact we have yet to find a "bad" bullworker. The very design of the product means that it is durable with many people still successfully using units manufactured 40 years ago! How many of the products that you see advertised on infomercials will still be being used in 40 years? Or in 40 months? Or perhaps even in 40 weeks! In fact the average time that most users of these "gadgets" will use their new wonder purchase is just under 6 weeks - 40 days!!!

There is currently a large research project taking place in Europe which is testing the effectiveness of integrating traditional Bullworker training alongside the latest super high intensity short burst training. The results that we have seen so far look promising - actually more than promising and should re-invigorate the bullworker for a whole new generation especially in today's "quick fix" society if people can see better results, in a shorter space of time, without having to go to a gym! We will report on this research as soon as we gain more information.
